We do this by offering collaborative interior design, new, vintage, and locally made home furnishings, trusted upholstery services, and an inspirational blog. We assist and empower people in creating beautiful and functional spaces in an approachable and fun way.
SALES ASSOCIATE JOB
The Sales Associate provides outstanding customer service, sells home furnishings, and creates a fun, friendly and beautiful shopping experience for Retro Den customers.
Greets customers and identifies each customer’s needs
Recommends and helps customers locate merchandise
Computes sales prices, totals purchases, and receives and processes payments
Prepares, cleans and prices inventory for purchase
Answers customer questions in a friendly manner
Understands and follows guidelines regarding store policies (e.g., pick-ups, returns)
Arranges and displays merchandise to promote sales
Examines merchandise for quality, correct pricing, and ideal display
Assists Shop Manager in creating storefront product social media content
Provides correct contact information to potential sellers
Efficiently and energetically funnels information for Home Styling and Upholstery leads
Opens and closes registers, including counting money, recording sales, and balancing drawers
Cleans display shelves, furniture, rugs, front door, plant-bar, bathroom, kitchen and floors
Offers plants assistance for customers when time allows
Recommends delivery options for customers
Manages and updates furniture pick-up/drop-off logistics
Waters and cares for shop plants (both inventory and fixtures)
Able to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds; asks for assistance when necessary when moving furniture
Other duties as assigned
Experience & Personal Characteristics
The Sales Associate is excited and passionate about assisting and empowering people to create beautiful and functional spaces by styling and selling quality home furnishings. She/he enjoys working in a creative, small business environment with other creative individuals.
The Sales Associate has the following training and/or experience:
Previous retail and/or sales experience
Experience with visual merchandising or home decor either professionally or as a hobby

Sales Acumen–knowledge of and ability to perform principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services

We are a fun, vibrant small business with a passion for vintage + modern interior design. We greatly value our small Retro Den team and work to create a friendly environment that motivates and inspires. This is a full-time (up to 40 hours per week) position starting at $12/hour
