Another big, fun announcement! We are hosting a glorious, edited version of The Alliday Show at our shop this December! Alliday is a handmade, holiday arts and crafts shopping event in its fifth year. This will be our Retro Den holiday party this year, and we are so very excited to be partnering with Briana Hefley-Shepard, the mastermind behind this wonderful event.
Read MoreAs you must know by now, we love succulents! They are so beautiful and easy to care for! They are also like the vintage shopping of plants- so many varieties that people collect them! One reason we love them so much is our grower, Sara. These plants are her passion. Each succulent we sell has been hand started and cared for by her. We tell customers to send us photos if they are having trouble with a plant they've purchased because Sara is always happy to help us figure out what might help get the succulent back on track. They can live a long time, and we want them to live long happy lives keeping our customers company.
Read MoreThis past Thursday, we hosted a cocktail napkin sewing class at the shop with our friends at Owl and Drum, the cutest sewing and craft store at 15th and Delaware in Tulsa. Have you been? Their fabrics are to die for, they've got cute gifts (headbands, books, jewelry, etc.) and classes that will whip you into a beautiful crafting wizard. Bianca, the owner, is delightful, kind and helpful. Since our shops like each other so much, we decided they should go on a date. Enter Cocktail Napkin Sewing Night at Retro Den. The lovely Mary Perisho teaches most of the classes at Owl and Drum, and she taught our class too. We couldn't have been more excited that she brought vintage sewing machines for us and our guests to use. To top the evening off, attendees enjoyed fancy cocktails, Antoinette's Baking Co. treats and our ever charming banter.

There was so much joy in picking out what she might put on her shelves to inspire her.

We just let husband Ryan in on our trick for making up new rooms in the store. He gave us a premise for our next arrangement. Mission: Make a room for Jeff, a seminarian who is a traveling salesperson during the summer months. His mom gave him these rugs with hints of pink. We tell Jeff we can make them work into a masculine room.
