Simple and Meaningful Holiday Decorating: A Tulsa Holiday Home Tour

Simple and Meaningful Holiday Decorating: A Tulsa Holiday Home Tour

You can adorn your home festively even if you do not store a bunch of decorations in storage sheds. I get anxious thinking about lugging out things that may only be used a couple weeks, six weeks if I am lucky, before I have to put them all up again. This holiday home tour, believe it or not, reflects my crazed one storage tub for ALL holiday decorations rule. I will note, I have another container that only stores my ornaments because I want them to be safe and sorted with cardboard around them. I'm minimal, but not reckless, people.

There are a few things to remember when you are an anxious human who gets overwhelmed about decorating for the holidays.

Decorating Your Home For the Holidays

As you know, I enjoy decorating for the seasons. Last year I began storing my Christmas decor in my coffee table which is a giant wooden trunk (pictured above) and so this year, it was so freaking easy to get everything out. We only had to venture to the attic for the tree and a few strings of lights.  Before I put my Christmas stuff in there, the trunk was empty. WHAT WAS I THINKING? So yes, this year it was so easy to get everything out to decorate. Plus, Caroline was old enough to actually be excited about decorating, so that gave us another boost to break out the holiday cheer.

Tulsa home styling: A sweet and simple vintage boys' room

Tulsa home styling: A sweet and simple vintage boys' room

We always say our clients are stylish people, but this has never been more the case than when we worked with local blogger and house renovator Emily Netz. Emily and her husband Jeff recently renovated their 1920s Tulsa home (which you can see and read about here) and Emily designed and furnished nearly every space except for her boys' room. When it came to this room, Emily felt stuck on how to create the space she had imagined in her head and wanted an extra pair (or two) of eyes to help bring it to life.  We were more than happy to help!

We ask Little Yellow Couch Style Matters podcast hosts why style matters

We ask Little Yellow Couch Style Matters podcast hosts why style matters

We've been listening to Little Yellow Couch's Style Matters podcast for a while now. Palmer often runs to it in the mornings, and I (Daly) sew to it during toddler nap-times. Karen and Zandra are funny and warm people who are passionate about the significant role style can play in people's lives. We love the guests they host–so many interesting, smart people who have made a business of helping inspire others in the interior design realm. It's not just about beautiful spaces, it's about how spaces can make you feel and help you be your best self.

This past week, Ashley and I, were lucky enough to be welcomed on to the Style Matters podcast as guests. We had THE best time and are so excited to share it with you. Click below to hear us chat it up about style and homes and furniture jokes.

Colorful Vintage + Modern Kitchen Renovation in Tulsa, OK

Colorful Vintage + Modern Kitchen Renovation in Tulsa, OK

Well, I can't believe it. Our kitchen is actually done. Done, I say! It's been so long, I'm ashamed for you to look back to see the date of the "before" kitchen post.

Okay. It was April 30th.

So that means the kitchen's been about six months in the making. Now to be completely fair, our kitchen has been functional since mid July, but the "finishing touches" took nearly as long as the bulk of the demo/installation. But whatever. It was our first renovation and we went at it without a general contractor and it's done now, so who cares if it took six months? Who's even counting, right? (I can say that now that it's over, because I did care. I was the crazy woman counting!).
