Read MoreWe've been listening to Little Yellow Couch's Style Matters podcast for a while now. Palmer often runs to it in the mornings, and I (Daly) sew to it during toddler nap-times. Karen and Zandra are funny and warm people who are passionate about the significant role style can play in people's lives. We love the guests they host–so many interesting, smart people who have made a business of helping inspire others in the interior design realm. It's not just about beautiful spaces, it's about how spaces can make you feel and help you be your best self.
This past week, Ashley and I, were lucky enough to be welcomed on to the Style Matters podcast as guests. We had THE best time and are so excited to share it with you. Click below to hear us chat it up about style and homes and furniture jokes.
Read MoreWhen we moved into our home a couple years ago, I knew our back patio had major potential, but it was a big eye sore at the time. The patio was HUGE and looked out to the small, beautiful lake that our home backs up to (the reason we bought the house); however, the previous owner had five foot shrubs surrounding 90% of the patio, blocking the view. Additionally, the patio was in disrepair. It was probably original to the home and most of it was crumbling. You couldn't walk outside barefoot because of the rough, pebbled finish that hadn't entirely flaked off. It was definitely not somewhere we wanted to spend our time, though it felt like, in theory, it should be a place where we should want to spend ALL of our time.
Read MoreWhen we do a mini-session, we first give you homework meant to get you really thinking about what you want out of this room- how you want it to look and feel. We send you our home survey full of questions (kind of like a home therapy worksheet) and ask you to make a Pinterest board. We use these pieces to help us get to know you and wrap our heads around where you want to go. Then, we take you there. And you like it.
