How to Care for your Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree

The Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree may just be the most internet famous tree. You're pretty much not a design blog if you don't have at least one image of a fiddle leaf on your blog. SO, consider this the official start to our blog. Thank God, we are finally legit.

I bought this tree about two and a half years ago when I was nearing the end of my pregnancy with Harriet. I was freaking excited. I'd heard they are finicky about light and that they hate being moved around, so I was also stinking nervous. I figured I was about to step up to keeping another human alive, I was definitely up for the challenge of a tree. Meh.

A-List Weekend Reading

Hi there friends and neighbors,

It's been a pretty autumn week here in Oklahoma and it looks like the leaves may be thinking about changing! We had a home styling session this week with a fun couple, and we can't wait to share their progress with you over the coming months. In other news, Palmer started burning incense (cedar!) and Daly is going on a big sewing retreat next weekend with Owl & Drum

Home Styling Before & After: A Tulsa 80s Boho Bedroom

We were super pumped to do a home styling session with our bud Tasha of House Sparrow Fine Nesting this fall. Tasha has amazing taste as evidenced by her handmade textiles, put-together 80s home and general loveliness. However, Tasha's bedroom had her feeling not so good. She described it as a dark place she hated spending time in. Yikes! No one deserves to feel that way about their bedroom.  Instead of avoiding a dark, dingy, and sad bedroom, Tasha longed to "spend lazy mornings cuddled in bed with coffee and a book and [her] babies."

Things are buzzing over here at the shop. We are making plans for Alliday, our local maker's holiday market–mark those calendars for December 8 and 9. There will be NO entry fee this year, so that's exciting. Palmer has been busy making her home feel like fall. Daly has been pondering the meaning of a minimal space and an incomplete space (I smell a blog post topic), and she's been adding some layers to her bedroom and daughter's playroom. That's it about us–hope you enjoy the pretty design things below that we found around the web for you.

Fall Home Tour: The Pros of Decorating or Not Decorating for the Season

Fall Home Tour: The Pros of Decorating or Not Decorating for the Season

The other day I was going on and on about how I'm decorating my home for fall. "We should do fall home tours!" I told Daly. I asked her how she decorated for the season and she said she didn't. What?! No pumpkins? Now that I think about it, it makes sense she doesn't. This is a girl who impressively limits her Christmas decorations to one box. However, we found it quite humorous that we have such different takes on decorating our homes for the season, so we thought we'd share both approaches. Palmer's obsession with pumpkins and Daly's indifference. Enjoy!
